PATNA: The
NCC directorate,
Bihar & Jharkhand, as directed by PM Narendra Modi, has decided to celebrate on a grand scale the
World Yoga Day in both the states on June 21. A specific 35-minute protocol has been chalked out for the day in an attempt to establish a world record by NCC cadets by performing yoga simultaneously all over the country.
Brigadier Ratan Kumar, Deputy Directorate General of NCC Directorate, Bihar & Jharkhand, at a press conference held on Thursday, said over 11 lakh NCC cadets will be performing yoga as per the specified yoga protocol starting from 7am till 7.35am on June 21, 2015, across the country.
Around 10,000 NCC cadets from different educational institutions will perform in Patna.
Brigadier R V Singh, Group Commander, NCC Group, Patna, said training is in progress at all locations and it is compulsory for NCC cadets to attend a minimum 15 hours of yoga training to participate at the event. Training will continue during holidays. The participants will be given five per cent bonus marks for NCC A, B & C certificate exams along with a participation certificate.
“No 1 Girls Battalion, NCC Bihar, Patna Group, led by Captain Swati Pandey achieved very good results during training. Altogether 1,180 out of 1,333 girl cadets in the battalion have already been trained. Girls have displayed more discipline and have taken more interest in training for yoga,” said Singh.
